Coming Summer 2021: Borneo: A Jungle Nightmare

Not much is known about the game. Fantastic Studio will be releasing it to PC and consoles. Ruggero Deodato, the director of the infamous Cannibal Holocaust, is the creative force behind the game. The trailer doesn’t really show off much, but with the subject matter and creator behind it, it should be worth a look. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long for a gameplay trailer. Dead by Daylight Chapter 18: A Binding of Kin

Coming next month. In a departure from who we typically get as killers, for this chapter we get two: The Twins. Charlotte and Victor Deshayes. Our new survivor is Élodie Rakato. It’ll be very interesting to see how the mechanics of the Twins work in-game. Are you excited for the new Chapter?

Spooktober Week 1

Decided to do weekly updates for Spooktober/Halloween Month. I’ll be posting on Tumblr/Instagram more frequently and want to simplify things on here.

Spooktober Day 1

Happy Spooktober. While 2020 has been a tough year for all of us, the world over, we can still make good memories. This won’t be a Halloween like the previous years. But we can still make it one worth remembering. And we can use the joy we have for this spooky month to set our troubles aside for a time. Relive the memories of great Halloween’s and great movies, books, and TV shows. Use the fictional horrors we love to cleanse the horror of our current reality.

The Granny (1995)

Welcome to first day of the best month of the year. And what better way to welcome the season than with a warm embrace from Granny. She may hate most of her family, but she definitely has a soft spot for you.

The Granny (1995) was written and directed by Luca Bercovici, based off a story by Bercovici and Sam Bernard. Stella Stevens, Shannon Whirry, Luca Bercovici, Brant von Hoffman, Sandy Helberg, Patricia Sturges, Heather Elizabeth Parkhurst, and Ryan Bollman.

Coming Soon: Destiny 2: Festival of the Lost

An annual tradition, the Festival returns to haunt the Tower once again for the third time on October 6th. The Haunted Forest returns once again. Sadly we get no new weapons. We get new rolls for the Horror Story and the Braytech Werewolf. Story-wise we’ll be racing through the Haunted Forest at the behest of the Spider to collect chests. There will also be new spooky armor.

Spooktober Day 2

A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987)

One of the best sequels to ever grace the silver screen, there’s dozens of amazing moments to choose from. I chose this iconic moment. Kristen Parker drags Nancy Thompson into her nightmare to help her. Nancy saves her without even a thought. And then comes the stunning realization that the Nightmare that has haunted her for years is still alive. Her look of sheer terror is a testament to Heather Langenkamp’s amazing acting ability. What’s your favorite ANOES 3 moment?

A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors was written by Wes Craven, Bruce Wagner, Frank Darabont, and Chuck Russell, with Russell directing. Heather Langenkamp, Robert Englund, Craig Wasson, Patricia Arquette, Ken Sagoes, Rodney Eastman, Jennifer Rubin, Laurence Fishburne, John Saxon, Priscilla Pointer, and Brooke Bundy star.

Call of Duty: Zombies

November 13th can’t come soon enough. While COD: Black Ops can be hit or miss, the Zombies portion of the game is always a highlight. And by the looks of things, Cold War brings it to the next level. I am very impressed with how Zombies looks and am most definitely looking forward to playing it. Are you excited for it?

Coming to Hulu: Clive Barker’s Books of Blood (2020)

Coming to Hulu October 7th. Written by Brannon Braga and Adam Simon, based off the stories by Clive Barker. Britt Robertson, Anna Friel, Rafi Gavron, Yul Vazquez, Cory Lee, Saad Siddiqui, Andy McQueen, Brett Rickaby, and Seamus Patterson star.

Like the stories it’s based off of, we explore forbidden territory through three tales of terror.

Spooktober Day 3

Child’s Play (1988)

My favorite and most iconic scene in this movie is when Karen discovers that Andy isn’t lying. Something is up with Chucky and she intends to discover what that is. It’s not only distinctly memorable, but intensely terrifying. After all, we’ve already seen Chucky kill. Andy’s the main character. It’s entirely possible we’re about to witness Karen’s demise. The sheer suspense is enough to set your heart to racing. The moment Karen discovers the unused batteries is a moment that will never be forgotten. What’s your favorite Child’s Play moment?

Child’s Play was written by Don Mancini, John Lafia, and Tom Holland, with Holland directing. Catherine Hicks, Chris Sarandon, Alex Vincent, Brad Dourif, and Dinah Manoff star.

Classic Trailer: Thir13en Ghosts (2001)

Written by Neal Marshall Stevens, Richard D’Ovidio, Todd Alcott, and James Gunn. Steve Beck directs. Tony Shalhoub, Shannon Elizabeth, Embeth Davidz, Matthew Lillard, Alec Roberts, JR Bourne, Rah Digga, and F. Murray Abraham star.

When his uncle dies, Arthur moves his children into the mansion he inherits. However, they soon discover its actually a machine that’s not only trapped 13 Ghosts but is going to use them to Eye of Hell. With the help of the two rival ghost hunters, Arthur and his kids must do whatever it takes to stop the ritual from taking place.

Video Game Clip: The Dark Pictures Anthlogogy: Man of Medan

Recently I played through Medan (inspired by the true story of the Ourang Medan) with a friend. Even though there’s major differences between this video game and the movie Ghost Ship (2002), I found this moment with the zombie pin-up girl reminiscent of some of the scenes with Francesca, the lounge singer who lures Greer to his death.

While the truth behind the ghosts in Medan are a little Scooby-Doo-ish, in my opinion, Supermassive still did an amazing job with the game. It really feels like you’re playing through a horror movie and I look forward to playing their next game, Little Hope, whenever it finally sees release.

State of Decay 3 Reveal Trailer

By most accounts, the Xbox showcase was a mixed bag, but one game I’m very excited for is State of Decay 3. Not to much is known about the game, including the release date. I hope the game is as impressive as this trailer. While State of Decay 2 got harangued for not having much of a narrative, I’m hoping this one will rectify that. And if we have to deal with zombie animals on top of Juggernauts and everything else, it definitely ups the stakes in the game. Are you a fan of the State of Decay games?
