Classic Clip: From Beyond (1986)

I have a list of actors that I will watch anything they do. Barbara Crampton is on that list. Her versatility as an actress is incredible. She’s been in several genre classics from Re-Animator (1985) to You’re Next (2011) to We Are Still Here (2015) and more. I have yet to see her make a bad film. From Beyond is another classic from the amazing Stuart Gordon. Barbara plays Dr. Katherine McMichaels who’s life goes off the rails when she begins to treat Dr. Crawford. Her journey eventually leads us to this memorable scene.

Upon creating a machine that can allow people to see beyond normal reality, a group of scientists are attacked by bizarre creatures.

Coming Soon: Wrong Turn (2021)

Releasing on January 26th. So glad we’re finally getting a new Wrong Turn movie. I live 5 minutes away from West Virginia so this series has always been one of my favorites. Now I know remakes are divisive. But if you look at the Wrong Turn franchise, the quality is all over the place, as is the narrative. The first 4 movies are tied together, while the 5th and 6th seem be their own thing. Hopefully this will start the story fresh, while keeping what we love, giving the franchise fresh blood. Are you excited for the new Wrong Turn?

A group of friends hiking in the Appalachian Mountains come upon a mystery community of people called The Foundation.

Wrong Turn was written by Alan B. McElroy with Mike P. Nelson directing. Matthew Modine, Emma Dumont, Charlotte Vega, Daisy Head, Bill Sage, Valerie Jane Parker, and Tim DeZarn star.

Classic Clip: Child’s Play 2 (1990)

CP2 is one of the best sequels to an 80s horror movies with many great moments. One of my favorite scenes is the death of Miss Kettlewell, the teacher who was nasty to Andy for no good reason. We’ve all had teachers like that, so it definitely helps us to relate to Andy more. And I love when asshole characters are killed after making life miserable for the protagonist. Sometimes it’s the best part of the movie. And Miss Kettlewell’s reaction when she realized Chucky was alive is priceless. Karma is indeed a bitch. What’s your favorite moment in Child’s Play 2?

Child’s Play 2 was written by Don Mancini and directed by John Lafia. Alex Vincent, Jenny Agutter, Christine Elise, Brad Dourif, Grace Zabriskie, and Beth Grant star.

Check out the clip on my Instagram Here. You can watch an extended version of the clip Here.

Favorite Moment: Frozen (2010)

Adam Green is one of the few horror writer/director’s that can do no wrong. I’ve enjoyed everything he’s done. However, Frozen has to be the scariest movie he’s made so far. I’ve never went skiiing or snowboarding, and this film has ensured I’ll continue to not ski or snowboard. I already had a distrust of ski lists and this ensures I was right to feel that way. What’s your favorite moment in this movie?

Frozen was written and directed by Adam Green. Shawn Ashmore, Emma Bell, Kevin Zegers, and Kane Hodder star.

Spooktober Week 1

Decided to do weekly updates for Spooktober/Halloween Month. I’ll be posting on Tumblr/Instagram more frequently and want to simplify things on here.

Spooktober Day 1

Happy Spooktober. While 2020 has been a tough year for all of us, the world over, we can still make good memories. This won’t be a Halloween like the previous years. But we can still make it one worth remembering. And we can use the joy we have for this spooky month to set our troubles aside for a time. Relive the memories of great Halloween’s and great movies, books, and TV shows. Use the fictional horrors we love to cleanse the horror of our current reality.

The Granny (1995)

Welcome to first day of the best month of the year. And what better way to welcome the season than with a warm embrace from Granny. She may hate most of her family, but she definitely has a soft spot for you.

The Granny (1995) was written and directed by Luca Bercovici, based off a story by Bercovici and Sam Bernard. Stella Stevens, Shannon Whirry, Luca Bercovici, Brant von Hoffman, Sandy Helberg, Patricia Sturges, Heather Elizabeth Parkhurst, and Ryan Bollman.

Coming Soon: Destiny 2: Festival of the Lost

An annual tradition, the Festival returns to haunt the Tower once again for the third time on October 6th. The Haunted Forest returns once again. Sadly we get no new weapons. We get new rolls for the Horror Story and the Braytech Werewolf. Story-wise we’ll be racing through the Haunted Forest at the behest of the Spider to collect chests. There will also be new spooky armor.

To check out the trailer on my Tumblr go Here.

Spooktober Day 2

A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987)

One of the best sequels to ever grace the silver screen, there’s dozens of amazing moments to choose from. I chose this iconic moment. Kristen Parker drags Nancy Thompson into her nightmare to help her. Nancy saves her without even a thought. And then comes the stunning realization that the Nightmare that has haunted her for years is still alive. Her look of sheer terror is a testament to Heather Langenkamp’s amazing acting ability. What’s your favorite ANOES 3 moment?

A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors was written by Wes Craven, Bruce Wagner, Frank Darabont, and Chuck Russell, with Russell directing. Heather Langenkamp, Robert Englund, Craig Wasson, Patricia Arquette, Ken Sagoes, Rodney Eastman, Jennifer Rubin, Laurence Fishburne, John Saxon, Priscilla Pointer, and Brooke Bundy star.

Call of Duty: Zombies

November 13th can’t come soon enough. While COD: Black Ops can be hit or miss, the Zombies portion of the game is always a highlight. And by the looks of things, Cold War brings it to the next level. I am very impressed with how Zombies looks and am most definitely looking forward to playing it. Are you excited for it?

To see the amazing Zombie gameplay trailer check my Tumblr Here.

Coming to Hulu: Clive Barker’s Books of Blood (2020)

Spooktober Day 3

Child’s Play (1988)

My favorite and most iconic scene in this movie is when Karen discovers that Andy isn’t lying. Something is up with Chucky and she intends to discover what that is. It’s not only distinctly memorable, but intensely terrifying. After all, we’ve already seen Chucky kill. Andy’s the main character. It’s entirely possible we’re about to witness Karen’s demise. The sheer suspense is enough to set your heart to racing. The moment Karen discovers the unused batteries is a moment that will never be forgotten. What’s your favorite Child’s Play moment?

Child’s Play was written by Don Mancini, John Lafia, and Tom Holland, with Holland directing. Catherine Hicks, Chris Sarandon, Alex Vincent, Brad Dourif, and Dinah Manoff star.

To watch an extended clip click Here.

Classic Trailer: Thir13en Ghosts (2001)

Favorite Clip: The Baby-Sitter (2017)

I was surprised how much I actually enjoyed The Baby-Sitter. The plot is simple, yet fun and we have an underdog to root for. And each time he stops the killers in their tracks you can’t help but be proud of his intelligence and resourcefulness. For me, one scene stood out. You could kind of telegraph what was going to happen, at least the gist of it, but it was definitely a surprise how it got from Point A to Point B. I mean, we knew the geeky Samuel was toast. And boy, was his death a highlight of the movie.

The Baby-Sitter was written by Brian Duffield and directed by McG. Judah Lewis, Samara Weaving, Robbie Ammel, Hana Mae Lee, Bella Thorne, Emily Alyn Lind, Andrew Bachelor, Doug Haley, Leslie Bibb, and Ken Marino star.

Watch the clip at my Tumblr Here. You can check out a gnarly bonus clip Here.

Classic Trailer: Dead Silence (2007)

Written by Leigh Whannell based off a story by Whannell and James Wan, with Wan directing. Ryan Kwanten, Amber Valletta, Donnie Wahlberg, Michael Fairman, and Judith Roberts star.

Jamie, having recently lost his wife, returns to his hometown of Raven’s Fair to investigate the legend of Mary Shaw and its ties to his wife’s death. Mary Shaw was a ventriloquist who was murdered by an angry mob over the death of a child who had humiliated her. They cut out her tongue, sparking a nursery rhyme about Mary’s ghost ripping out your tongue if you screamed.
