Classic Clip: From Beyond (1986)

I have a list of actors that I will watch anything they do. Barbara Crampton is on that list. Her versatility as an actress is incredible. She’s been in several genre classics from Re-Animator (1985) to You’re Next (2011) to We Are Still Here (2015) and more. I have yet to see her make a bad film. From Beyond is another classic from the amazing Stuart Gordon. Barbara plays Dr. Katherine McMichaels who’s life goes off the rails when she begins to treat Dr. Crawford. Her journey eventually leads us to this memorable scene.

Upon creating a machine that can allow people to see beyond normal reality, a group of scientists are attacked by bizarre creatures.

From Beyond was written by Brian Yuzna, Dennis Paoli, and Stuart Gordon, based off the short story by H.P. Lovecraft. Stuart Gordon directed. Jeffrey Combs, Barbara Crampton, Ted Sorel, Ken Foree, Carolyn Purdy-Gordon, and Bunny Summers star.

Coming Soon: Wrong Turn (2021)

Releasing on January 26th. So glad we’re finally getting a new Wrong Turn movie. I live 5 minutes away from West Virginia so this series has always been one of my favorites. Now I know remakes are divisive. But if you look at the Wrong Turn franchise, the quality is all over the place, as is the narrative. The first 4 movies are tied together, while the 5th and 6th seem be their own thing. Hopefully this will start the story fresh, while keeping what we love, giving the franchise fresh blood. Are you excited for the new Wrong Turn?

A group of friends hiking in the Appalachian Mountains come upon a mystery community of people called The Foundation.

Wrong Turn was written by Alan B. McElroy with Mike P. Nelson directing. Matthew Modine, Emma Dumont, Charlotte Vega, Daisy Head, Bill Sage, Valerie Jane Parker, and Tim DeZarn star.

Classic Clip: Child’s Play 2 (1990)

CP2 is one of the best sequels to an 80s horror movies with many great moments. One of my favorite scenes is the death of Miss Kettlewell, the teacher who was nasty to Andy for no good reason. We’ve all had teachers like that, so it definitely helps us to relate to Andy more. And I love when asshole characters are killed after making life miserable for the protagonist. Sometimes it’s the best part of the movie. And Miss Kettlewell’s reaction when she realized Chucky was alive is priceless. Karma is indeed a bitch. What’s your favorite moment in Child’s Play 2?

Child’s Play 2 was written by Don Mancini and directed by John Lafia. Alex Vincent, Jenny Agutter, Christine Elise, Brad Dourif, Grace Zabriskie, and Beth Grant star.
